CLASCO integrates gender, occupational safety, working conditions, human rights and social impacts across all processes.
Chemical risk assessment analysed the occupational safety during the CLASCO and during the conventional production route.
Social life cycle assessment analysis the impacts at each life cycle stages on workers and local communities.
A special focus during the social LCA was focusing the situation of women at each life cycle stage considering different vulnerabilities, exposure pathways, and opportunities due to biological, physiological, psychological, socioeconomic, and cultural factors.
Social impacts are highest during material extraction and processing, with women generally facing greater risks. Compared with conventional production, CLASCO reduces social impacts through lower material demand, reduced exposure to hazardous substances, and the substitution of Co-based with lower-impact Ti-based alloys.
