Gender equality aspects are increasingly being recognised as a key factor in research and innovation projects, and this event will dive deep into how these issues are moving beyond simple quotas to influence technical and organisational processes.
This year’s event will feature presentations and workshops, anchored by real-world insights from the EU-funded CLASCO Project, which addresses gender dimensions in occupational safety. Prof. Gesa Beck (Berlin University of Applied Sciences & ABCircular) will lead discussions on how working conditions such as exposure to chemicals, noise, and physical workload can impact female workers. She will also share her experiences as an EU project monitor, highlighting the importance of integrating gender considerations into both project teams and organisational structures.
Another keynote will be delivered by Prof. Gertraud (Turu) Stadler from Charité Berlin, who will provide an overview of gender research in medicine. Drawing from this, participants will discuss how lessons from medicine can be applied to fields like materials science, helping to build a more inclusive and effective research environment.
Workshops will offer an interactive platform for participants to engage with these topics, sharing their own experiences from different organisational contexts and discussing best practices for improving gender equality aspects in funded projects. The goal is to develop actionable recommendations for fostering more inclusive, gender-aware project environments.
Whether you attend in person at TU Darmstadt or join online, this event promises valuable insights and practical strategies for integrating gender aspects into research and innovation.
