Exploring future trends: The CLASCO project live at Surface Ventures

Twice now, we've had the privilege of sharing our groundbreaking research within the CLASCO project at Surface Ventures. We can't wait for more insightful sessions in the future, uniting experts and enthusiasts to explore the limitless possibilities in surface engineering.


Surface Ventures, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the field of surface engineering, regularly hosts webinars and workshops featuring internationally renowned researchers. In these online events focused on surface engineering, we've had the privilege of presenting our latest research within the CLASCO project not once, but twice.

On 29th June 2023, we proudly presented the CLASCO project with our project leader, Prof. Dr. Andrés Fabián Lasagni. The webinar, titled "HOW TO ENHANCE THE FUNCTIONALITIES OF SURFACES USING LASER-BASED MANUFACTURING METHODS", delved into the fascinating realm of structured surfaces with micro- and nanoscale features, offering a new dimension of design possibilities for materials. This innovative approach allows us to tailor the properties of materials to enhance their functionality. In addition, the ability to process large areas at high throughput is crucial for the successful implementation of these approaches in industrial applications.

On 17th August 2023, we were once again in the spotlight with an online talk by Ignacio Tabares from Lasagni's research group at the Technical University of Dresden. In his enlightening presentation entitled "Introduction to Laser-Based Surface Functionalization: Present and Perspectives," attendees had the unique opportunity to gain insight into various laser patterning technologies. The presentation provided a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape of laser-based surface functionalization and offered valuable insights into its future prospects.
